Letter from Dr. Cepero

Dear Parents,

I would like to share with you a new model that our practice will begin on January 2nd, 2020. This new model will allow for me to physically see more patients, as well as to oversee more closely, the work of our new Extended Providers. To be able to accomplish this in the same amount of time, I won't have a schedule of my own. Instead, all patients will be scheduled with the APRN’s or the PA, who will see the patients first. Then I will go to the room for the most important aspects of the visit, including the plan. The patients that I currently have on my schedule for next year, will be divided between the two APRN’s and the PA. We will put a note on the appointments to make sure I oversee those patients no matter what the reason of the visit is.

So do not worry, I will still see your child, but with the help of the Extended Provider. Hopefully this will also help with the flow of the schedule, so that the wait times can be reduced as well. I won't be able to physically see every patient that comes to the office every day. However, I want to make sure I can see most of them, especially the ones that are more acutely ill, have complicated medical conditions, all newborns, all new patients and even our established patients that are healthy, but that I just have not been able to see in a while. I will continue to do circumcisions and I will also do the follow up for the care plans for our patients with special needs. This model will make me more available to the Extended Providers when they need my recommendation or to do a procedure.

I want to reassure all parents that this will be innovative and different, but at the same time it will improve the quality of care that will make our practice more unique. I want to make sure that I can get involved on the care of more of my patients and not to be tied to a busy schedule of just a few patients and a lot of computer work. I will also have more control and supervision of the practice. Your children are very important to me and I know I'm also very important to them:) That's why I want to do this and I need your help to make it work! Please feel free to ask any questions and give us your opinion.

Best Regards,

Dr. Cepero
